Years before Caitlin and Hunter went on their first date, they each brought home a very special Bernese Mountain Dog puppy from the same litter. Caitlin with her girl Wren and Hunter with his girl Nala. It was one of the best days of both of their lives.
Through break ups, moves, and job changes the two sisters became such an important part of Hunter and Caitlin's lives separately. They had no idea the path the girls would end up leading them on.
After having Wren for four years and crossing paths with Nala and Hunter many times on the small island of Nantucket, Caitlin developed a crush on Hunter. After all, he had the same dog as her, what's not to like? What she didn’t know was that Hunter had developed a crush on her too.
Both of them would talk to their friends about the other and neither of them would do anything about it. Neither of them knew the feeling was mutual until Hunter finally asked Caitlin out to dinner at Brotherhood.
That dinner turned into a relationship, and after Hunter had completely carpeted his entire house so that Wren, who is scared of hardwood floors, would feel comfortable to come inside his house to hang out, Caitlin knew he was the one.
Eventually two separate lives — and two sister Bernese Mountain Dogs — all came together under one roof.
Now, getting to watch the girls grow older together while they build a life together makes the whole thing feel meant to be. They like to think the girls came up with the plan all along.
